Fringes and muffins
A few rhetorical questions.....
Why, when my hair is looking frumpy and mumsy and in need of a cut, do I cut myself a slightly too short fringe hoping that I'll suddenly look younger and funkier? This is not an isolated incidence. See profile pic.
Why does the printer always play up when I have last minute important stuff to do?
Why do I always leave it until the last minute?
Why do people not R.S.V.P when it says to do so?
Will 72 muffins be enough for tomorrow? 11 people confirmed, 7 can't come, 15 who could just turn up. Must not under estimate how many OH will eat before then unless I hide them.
Hmmmmm

The Hen is getting Fat
The launch of Fat Hen, or more realistically my deadline for finally finishing all those loose ends, is so close now. On Friday I have lots of lovely people coming to my house to see what I've been doing these past few months. Maybe even to buy some of it! This is where slight panic begins to set in as I realise I should have been doing more over those past months and not left it all to the last three days! When will I learn. Alongside the nagging worry that I haven't made enough stuff there is the usual chaos that is the home of an untidy family of five. I feel my bedroom may become very full of stuff at around 4pm on Friday! A busy few days ahead I think.
Wish me luck. :-)

Onion Soup
It's raining, it's pouring and the old man is most definately snoring! The rain has given me the excuse, not that I need one, to cosy up in the conservatory with my sewing machine whilst the kids cosy up on the sofa and watch a film. They are full of cold and have been dosed up with calpol to alleviate the aches and pains so I should get a bit of peace. So with a tummy full of onion soup, made by my lovely hubbie with his home grown onions, I shall return to my quilt and hopefully finish the quilting. You never know I might even get to start the binding!

This is the quilt I'm working on. It is backed with the lovely Amy Butler fabric in the top left corner and the binding will be cerise pink polka dots.

Friends and Bargains
But not bargain friends! I do believe you should pay well for good friends if you wish them to be of good quality and last more than one season ;-)

Friends...I had a wonderful morning yesterday with a very dear friend. The conversation spills out like an overflowing champagne glass. I come away feeling inspired. A delicious morning of tea, cake and art. Perfect.
The afternoon was more tea with a friend, no cake this time, ( I don't do this every day) and I'm inspired to have a major de-clutter! I feel inspired and that is what friends should be...inspirational.
They should lift your spirits, encourage and support. Friends like these are rare and should be treasured.
So...onto bargains.....

After visiting the library to borrow rather than buy a book on de-cluttering I had a little peak in the
nearby charity shop.
I got this fab dress for £2.50 and the shoes for £2.00.Wow. A pair of black tights and I've got an outfit for £4.50!
My 8 year old son saw the shoes in the hall and said " wow cool shoes mum". Say no more.

And what little girl can resist a red and white polka dot dress that does this! £1.50.
Happy shopping :-)

I've just bought my domain name. Yippee. Now just have to do the difficult bit and build the site. Next weeks project I think. Actually I must confess I did buy a domain name 2 days ago.....but then suddenly tonight whilst lying in the bath I realised the stupid mistake I'd made .org . As nice as I try to be I'm not a non-profit organisation ......... It may turn out be non-profit but not intentionally!
Hey, welcome my first follower! It all seems a bit real now. I'd better make sure I've got something interesting to say. I'm desperately trying to steal myself away to my sewing machine to finish the last bit of binding on a gorgeous apron I'm making. Nearly finished the essential chores :-)
